Alastin - A-Luminate Brightening Serum

Alastin A-Luminate Brightening Serum is a hydroquinone-free, retinol-free treatment that targets the appearance of dark spots, melasma, post-inflammatory marks, and general sun-related discoloration. It works on several pigment pathways at once rather than relying on a single bleaching agent, which is why it can be used continuously instead of in short courses.

The formula pairs brightening actives with a strong antioxidant base, so it addresses existing discoloration while helping limit the oxidative stress that drives new pigment. It is non-irritating and appropriate for sensitive skin, and it layers well with the in-office treatments that address pigment most directly, including BroadBand Light, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing.

Expect gradual, cumulative change rather than an overnight shift. Most people begin to notice a more even, luminous tone somewhere between eight and twelve weeks of consistent twice-daily use paired with daily sun protection.

1. Cleanse and pat your skin dry.
2. Apply 2 to 3 pumps to your face, neck, and chest morning and evening.
3. Press the serum in evenly rather than spot-treating. Diffuse pigment responds better to full-face application.
4. Follow with your moisturizer. In the morning, finish with a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
5. Use consistently for at least 12 weeks before judging results.

Daily sun protection is not optional with any brightening product. Unprotected UV exposure will undo the progress you make.

Two things determine whether this works for you. The first is patience: pigment turns over slowly, and twelve weeks is a fair trial. The second is sun protection, which matters more than the serum itself. If you have melasma, note that heat and visible light also trigger it, so a tinted mineral SPF with iron oxides will serve you better than a clear chemical sunscreen.
