Alastin HA IMMERSE Serum is a hyaluronic acid serum that does two things at once. It delivers immediate surface hydration for smoother, more radiant-looking skin, and it uses a proprietary peptide to encourage skin to increase its own production of high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid over time.

That second mechanism is what separates it from a conventional HA serum. Most hyaluronic acid products sit on the surface holding water; useful, but temporary and dependent on reapplication. In very dry climates or on a plane, always seal hyaluronic acid with a moisturizer. Applied alone on dry skin in dry air, HA can draw moisture outward rather than inward.
