Alastin - ReSURFACE Skin Polish

Alastin ReSURFACE Skin Polish is a dual-action exfoliant that combines smooth, rounded physical beads with glycolic acid. The physical component lifts surface debris immediately; the glycolic acid works chemically to loosen the bonds holding dull, dead cells in place.

The two together do more than either alone, and the formula is deliberately hydrating so that it does not leave skin tight or stripped. That matters, because over-exfoliation is one of the most common causes of the sensitivity and redness patients bring to us.

It suits most skin types and leaves skin visibly softer and brighter after a single use. Use it two to three times a week rather than daily, and always follow with sun protection.

1. Apply to damp skin one to three times per week, in place of your regular cleanser.
2. Massage gently in small circles for 30 to 60 seconds. Let the product do the work; pressure causes irritation, not results.
3. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.
4. Follow with your serum and moisturizer.
5. Use broad spectrum sunscreen daily. Glycolic acid increases sun sensitivity.

Avoid on the same night as your retinol, and pause use for several days before and after a peel, laser treatment, or waxing.

Glycolic Acid: an alpha hydroxy acid that loosens the bonds between dead surface cells for chemical exfoliation and improved brightness.

The single most common skincare mistake our providers correct is over-exfoliation. Patients arrive with red, stinging, reactive skin and a routine containing a scrub, an acid toner, a peel pad, and a retinol, and they conclude their skin is sensitive when it is actually injured.

Use this one to three times a week at most, and count it as your exfoliation for that day. Not on retinol nights, not alongside an acid toner. If your skin is currently irritated, stop all exfoliation for two weeks and rebuild the barrier first.
