Elta MD - Skin Recovery Light Moisturizer

EltaMD Skin Recovery Light Moisturizer is a lightweight, hydrating moisturizer built around squalane, a lipid that mirrors one the skin produces naturally. It is formulated for dry and sensitive skin and for skin recovering from aesthetic procedures and treatments.

What patients consistently report about this one is the balance: it hydrates properly without leaving a greasy film. Skin that is dry or compromised often needs more moisture than it can comfortably tolerate in a heavy cream, and this fills that gap.

It is simple, well tolerated, and appropriate for all skin types. It layers cleanly under sunscreen and makeup.

1. Apply to clean skin morning and evening, after any serums.
2. Use a small amount over your face and neck, and press it in gently.
3. In the morning, follow with a broad spectrum sunscreen.
4. After a procedure, apply as often as your skin feels tight, once your provider clears you.

Applying to slightly damp skin will help it hold more water, particularly useful in dry climates or on a plane.

Squalane is a good match for skin that is dry but does not want a heavy cream, and it is one of the least likely emollients to cause congestion, so it works for oily skin that is dehydrated too.

For the first days after an ablative procedure you may need something more occlusive, such as a recovery balm, before stepping down to this.
